Recently, a group of Shenzhen Daily readers were invited to Pingshan to learn about the revolutionary history portrayed in a museum in Jingui Village as well as in the Dongjiang Guerrilla Column Memorial Hall.

The museum in Jingui Village is themed “staying true to the founding mission of the CPC.” The first floor of the museum serves as a venue for lectures on the Party history and patriotic education for group visitors. The exhibition hall on the second floor displays documents, paintings, weapons and other exhibits that demonstrate major historical events of the CPC during 1921 and 1949. The exhibition hall on the third flood features documents, photos and paintings about heroes who made significant contributions to the CPC and the revolutions in China.

The Dongjiang Guerrilla Column was formed in 1943 by Zeng Sheng, a Pingshan native. The Dongjiang Column Memorial Hall was built in 2000 in Pingshan to display historical documents, photos, veterans’ paraphernalia and a monument inscribed with thousands of martyrs’ names.
